Indian shooters face mixed results at Asian Games 2026 FAST-MOVING

Indian shooters have faced mixed results at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. Elavenil Valarivan secured two silver medals, one in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event and another as part of the women’s 10m air rifle team alongside Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Kochalumkal.

In the mixed team 10m air rifle event, the duo of Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Mane finished fourth with a score of 376.3, narrowly missing a medal. Meanwhile, two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker finished fifth in the women’s 10m air pistol final with a score of 181.1. India also narrowly missed a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol team event, finishing fourth behind Vietnam.

Despite these individual and team near-misses, India’s shooting contingent has accumulated several medals, including silvers from Himanshu Dhillon and Rudrankksh Patil in the men's events. Athletes have also noted logistical challenges, including long travel times between venues.
