Baby Face, Mexican wrestling legend, dies at 79 FAST-MOVING

Mexican wrestling legend José Guadalupe Fuentes Ochoa, widely known by his ring name ‘Baby Face’, has died at the age of 79. His passing was confirmed by fellow wrestler El Hijo del Santo.

Known as ‘El Cañonero de Colima’, Fuentes Ochoa had a professional career spanning over three decades, beginning in the 1970s. He was a prominent figure in the ring, competing in major venues such as Arena México and Toreo de Cuatro Caminos for organizations including CMLL and the UWA. During his career, he faced legendary opponents such as El Perro Aguayo, Villano III, and Canek.

Following his retirement in 2000 due to injury, he became a well-known figure in the culinary world. He operated a popular rice specialty restaurant, ‘Los Arroces del Baby Face’, located near Arena México. The business was inspired by his travels to Japan, where he developed a deep interest in oriental gastronomy.

Reports suggest his death may have been related to renal and cardiac complications, following a recent hospitalization at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias.
