Elazığ industrial flood damage and Cyprus labor strike threats

In Elazığ, Turkey, CHP Member of Parliament Gürsel Erol has called for support to repair damages caused by severe flooding on October 12 at the Elazığ Organized Industrial Zone. The flooding caused significant damage to transportation routes, energy lines, and factory production areas, though no loss of life was reported. Erol emphasized the importance of the zone for the local economy and employment, stating he will follow up with relevant institutions to ensure businesses receive necessary aid and production can resume.

In Cyprus, TEL-SEN President Ömer Gedik has threatened a strike across all branches if no agreement is reached by Wednesday. This action is intended to support EL-SEN, which is protesting for improved occupational safety and the resolution of promotion issues. Gedik criticized the lack of concrete solutions regarding unsafe service vehicles and equipment shortages, warning that failure to address these risks could lead to workplace accidents.
