Elazığ vehicle inspection station request under ministerial review
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is evaluating the need for a new vehicle inspection station in the eastern districts of Elazığ, Turkey. The request follows field studies conducted by HÜDA PAR Elazığ Provincial Chairman Metin Suiçer, who documented local residents' concerns regarding the lack of permanent facilities.
Currently, the region relies on mobile inspection services. In Kovancılar, the mobile station conducted 108 visits in 2025, inspecting an average of 27 vehicles per service day. While the Ministry stated that current mobile capacity is sufficient to meet demand, it noted that the establishment of a new permanent station may be considered during the next tender period after 2027, taking into account population and vehicle growth.
Local residents have expressed a preference for a permanent station to reduce the time and travel costs associated with long-distance trips for inspections.
