Elżbieta Starostecka celebrates 83rd birthday

Polish actress Elżbieta Starostecka is celebrating her 83rd birthday. She is widely recognized by Polish audiences for her iconic role as Stefcia Rudecka in the 1976 film adaptation of ‘Trędowata’, directed by Jerzy Hoffman.

The film was a massive cinematic success, selling nearly 10 million tickets and ranking as the ninth largest hit in Polish cinema history. Starostecka’s performance was noted for its ethereal beauty, sparking significant public discussion regarding the film's casting.

Starostecka has maintained a long-term relationship with musician Włodzimierz Korcz, whom she met while studying at the Łódź Film School. Although she has since stepped back from the media spotlight to focus on her family, her rare public appearances continue to draw significant interest.
