Elbit Systems acquires Canada-based International Submarine Engineering

Elbit Systems has completed the acquisition of International Submarine Engineering (ISE), a Canadian company specializing in advanced autonomous underwater and remotely operated systems. Based near Vancouver, ISE has over 50 years of experience in subsea robotics and has delivered more than 250 underwater vehicles to customers in over 20 countries.

The acquisition is intended to expand Elbit Systems’ maritime portfolio, specifically in areas such as underwater Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Mine Counter Measures (MCM), and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW). ISE’s expertise includes the development of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), as well as computer control systems and robotics.

While the purchase price was not disclosed, Elbit Systems stated the amount is not material to the company. This move complements Elbit’s existing naval capabilities, which include unmanned surface vessels, electronic warfare, and sonar systems.
