Elbląg: 15-year-old injured in electric scooter and car collision

A 15-year-old riding an electric scooter was injured in a collision with a Volkswagen Golf on Mickiewicza Street in Elbląg on Tuesday, September 8. The car was driven by an 18-year-old man who was exiting a residential area.

Preliminary police findings indicate the teenager was riding the scooter on the sidewalk. In this specific area, where the speed limit is 30 km/h, regulations suggest scooter users should use the roadway rather than the sidewalk. The impact was severe enough to throw the teenager over the vehicle and onto the road. Both drivers were sober at the time of the incident. The teenager was transported to the hospital with leg injuries, and police are investigating to determine legal responsibility.
