Elche advances urban plan changes for Ronda Sur construction

The Elche City Council has initiated the public information process for modification number 38 of the General Urban Development Plan (PGOU). This move aims to comply with a ruling by the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, which requires construction limits near the second section of the Ronda Sur to be reduced from 100 meters to 50 meters.

The government has opted to process these changes in phases to prevent further delays to the construction of the second section of the ring road, which spans from the León highway to the N-340 and the Ronda de Carrús. Once the public exhibition period concludes and any allegations are resolved, the works—estimated to cost over 36 million euros and fully funded by the Generalitat—will be put up for tender.
