Elche and Celta face off with several former players returning
The upcoming match between Elche CF and Celta de Vigo features several players returning to face their former clubs. Notable figures include Aleix Febas and Álvaro Núñez, both of whom recently moved from Elche to Celta.
Aleix Febas, who played 116 matches for Elche and helped the team achieve promotion, expressed deep affection for the club, calling it the ‘club of my life.’ After deciding not to renew his contract to pursue European football with Celta, he is now returning to the Martínez Valero stadium as an opponent. Febas noted that while his adaptation to Celta has been slightly hindered by a rib injury, he has fully recovered and is ready for the match.
Other players with ties between the two clubs include Matías Dituro, Elche’s starting goalkeeper and former Celta player, and Yago de Santiago, who was trained at Celta’s academy. The match highlights a significant overlap of personnel between the two squads.
