Elche begins maintenance on San Antón and Grifo hiking trails

The Elche City Council has initiated maintenance and conservation works on the approved PR-CV 450 hiking trail, which encompasses the San Antón and Grifo ravines. The project aims to ensure user safety, improve navigation, and protect the local environment.

Key actions include clearing vegetation across approximately 3,000 linear meters and installing high-resistance signage at strategic points. Additionally, the 21.4-kilometer trail will undergo a complete repainting of horizontal markings using standardized white and yellow colors. According to Environment Councilor José Antonio Román, these improvements are intended to reduce the risk of hikers losing their way and to minimize environmental impact by encouraging visitors to stay on official paths.
