Elche intensifies mosquito fumigation efforts

The Elche City Council has intensified mosquito fumigation efforts across the municipality to combat a population surge caused by high summer temperatures. The operations include aerial and terrestrial fumigation, alongside larvicidal treatments in wetlands, salt marshes, and irrigation ditches.

Specific focus has been placed on the Arenales del Sol and Clot de Galvany areas, as well as the districts of Daimés and La Hoya. Additionally, authorities are treating urban hotspots, such as storm drains, to reduce insect populations.
