Elche midfielder Marc Aguado sidelined by ankle injury
Elche CF midfielder Marc Aguado will be unavailable for four to six weeks following a serious ankle injury sustained during a recent match against Villarreal. Medical tests confirmed damage to the anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments in his right ankle.
Aguado will miss several upcoming fixtures, including matches against Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, and Real Betis in La Liga, as well as a Copa del Rey tie. While the injury is significant, the club confirmed that the player will undergo a conservative recovery process and will not require surgery.
The injury forces manager Martín Anselmi to reorganize the team's midfield. Aguado had recently established himself as a key starter for the club, appearing in six official matches this season and scoring one goal.
