Elche municipality boosts local festivals with new funding deals and youth music event

The Elche City Council signed collaboration agreements with twelve local festive organisations for the 2026 season, allocating a total of €419,875 to support traditional celebrations such as Semana Santa, Moros y Cristianos and the Corpus Christi festivities. Mayor Pablo Ruz thanked the groups and reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage.

In parallel, the council launched the Elx Music Fest, a free eight‑night programme running from 7 to 14 August 2026 in the UMH parking area. Councilor for Festivals and Youth Inma Mora described the event as a “barraca” aimed at young residents, featuring themed parties, DJ sets, local bands, and interactive activities promoted by the municipal prevention unit. The line‑up includes a Pirates Party, Urban Night, emerging‑band showcase, Neon Party, Crazy Party, a concert by local artist Dani Mixtika and a final Nightverse celebration.
