Elche South Ring Road project enters public consultation phase
The Generalitat Valenciana has opened the basic project for the final section of the Elche South Ring Road for public inspection. Developed in collaboration with the Elche City Council, the 2.35-kilometer stretch will connect the CV-851 with the N-340, completing the city's outer bypass.
The infrastructure is designed to divert transit traffic away from the urban center. Key features include two lanes in each direction, new roundabouts, and improved access to the Hospital Universitario del Vinalopó, including a direct branch to the emergency department. The project also incorporates service roads for adjacent plots and cycling routes that will connect with the EL-20 network and industrial sectors.
The project is funded through a 43.675 million euro agreement signed in 2024. The Generalitat will contribute 35.875 million euros and is responsible for project drafting, approvals, and construction management. The Elche City Council will provide 7.8 million euros and manage the acquisition of necessary land through expropriation processes.
