Elche to build €5 million four‑star hotel in business park

The city of Elche, Spain, will construct a new four‑star hotel in the Parque Empresarial near the IMED Hospital. The project, promoted by Iris Vitelco S.L., received an environmental licence from the Junta de Gobierno Local on 31 July 2026, allowing works to start after the summer. The €5 million investment will create about 50 direct jobs and add 250 hotel beds – roughly a 15 % increase in the municipality’s capacity. The 7,700‑square‑metre building will contain 98 rooms, including suites and tourist apartments, a spa, swimming pool, restaurant, café, meeting rooms, landscaped gardens and parking for around 120 cars. Construction manager Laura López said the company chose Elche for its strong tourism performance, while Mayor Pablo Ruz highlighted the development as a new tourism milestone for the city.
