Elda approves new professional career regulations for municipal employees

The Elda City Council has unanimously approved a new regulation regarding the horizontal professional career and performance evaluation of its municipal officials. The measure, passed during a plenary session on November 2, follows two years of negotiations with union representatives.

The new system allows employees to achieve professional progression and salary increases through a progressive scale of grades without needing to change their specific roles or categories. This horizontal progression is based on criteria such as continuous training, the fulfillment of objectives, and performance evaluations.

According to Jesús Sellés, the Councilor for Personnel, the regulation addresses long-standing demands from the workforce. The initiative aims to modernize the municipal administration, improve internal departmental functioning, and retain talent by providing a structured way to recognize professional development and expertise.
