Eldar Aytmatov donates unpublished works to library in Antalya

The family of the world-renowned Kyrgyz author Cengiz Aytmatov has donated a significant collection of works to the Cengiz Aytmatov Library in Antalya, Turkey. Eldar Aytmatov and his family visited the library, which is operated by the Muratpaşa Municipality, to present the donation.

The collection includes publications in Russian, Kyrgyz, and English, most notably works containing previously unpublished studies. This donation is intended to provide a vital resource for researchers and readers wishing to study the author's literature in its original languages.

Opened in March 2023, the library currently houses approximately 5,000 books. This latest contribution follows a previous donation in December 2024, where the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Antalya provided 220 Turkish books featuring the author's works. The municipality continues to honor the author's legacy through the library and local landmarks, such as a dedicated park and statue in the Güzeloba neighborhood.
