Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition announced for Nintendo Switch 2

Bandai Namco has released a new gameplay trailer for ‘Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition’ on the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for release on August 28. The port, developed by FromSoftware, includes the ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ expansion and new content such as two additional starting classes—the Heavy Knight and the Idus Knight—along with new armor and customizable abilities for the spectral steed, Torrent.

Recent previews indicate significant performance improvements following previous optimization concerns. The game reportedly maintains a stable 30 FPS in docked mode, offering better frame time stability than the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, though handheld mode may still experience frame rate drops. The title will be available for 79.99 euros via digital download or a physical cartridge.

FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki also shared details regarding the game’s collaboration with author George R. R. Martin, noting that the partnership began after Miyazaki expressed his admiration for Martin’s fantasy works.
