Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition debuts at No. 2 in Japan

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has debuted at number two on the Famitsu sales chart in Japan, selling 27,604 physical copies between August 24 and 30, 2026. While it trailed the top-selling Rhythm Heaven Groove, it was the highest-selling new release for the Nintendo Switch 2 during that period.

The Tarnished Edition brings the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion to the Nintendo Switch 2 in a single package. The release includes new content such as the ‘Idus Knight’ and ‘Heavy Knight’ starting classes, along with additional armor and weaponry. The package is also available for existing players on other platforms for a fee of $4.99/£3.99.
