Elden Ring Tarnished Edition released for Nintendo Switch 2

FromSoftware has released ‘Elden Ring Tarnished Edition’ for the Nintendo Switch 2, a comprehensive package that includes the base game and the ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ expansion. This version features new elements such as four types of new armor and cosmetic changes for the spectral steed, Torrent. For existing players on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox platforms, a ‘Tarnished Pack’ DLC has also been released to provide similar new content.

In the game’s community, players have noted a phenomenon at the ‘Fort Haight’ location in Limgrave. Users are leaving messages that create a sense of ‘collective hallucination,’ such as claiming treasure chests exist where there are none. This trend is attributed to players transitioning from ‘Elden Ring Nightrain,’ a cooperative survival action game released in May 2025, which features a base structure nearly identical to Fort Haight but with different item placements. This has led players to expect items in Fort Haight that do not actually exist in the original game.

On Amazon Japan, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the Tarnished Edition has been noted as a popular item, recently seeing a 19% discount.
