Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2
FromSoftware has released Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2, alongside a major 1.17 balance update and the Tarnished Pack DLC for existing platforms. The Switch 2 edition includes the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and exclusive content such as two new classes—the Idus Knight and Heavy Knight—as well as new armor sets and cosmetic options for the spectral steed, Torrent.
Technical reviews of the Switch 2 port indicate that the game maintains a stable 30 FPS in both handheld and docked modes. While critics noted some visual compromises in vegetation and occasional frame pacing issues, the port is generally praised for its stability compared to earlier previews. The Tarnished Pack DLC, available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, provides similar new content to the Switch 2 version.
The 1.17 update introduces significant gameplay adjustments, primarily focusing on buffs for various weapons, items, and the parry mechanic.
