Elder Ulisses Soares strengthens interfaith ties in New York City

Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints conducted a series of meetings with religious leaders in New York City on August 21, 2026, to strengthen interfaith relationships.

Accompanied by Elder Robert M. Daines and Elder David R. Marriott, Soares visited several prominent religious organizations and leaders. These included Rev. A. R. Bernard of the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, Rabbi Joseph Potasnik and Rabbi Diana Gerson of the New York Board of Rabbis, J. Antonio Fernandez of Catholic Charities of the New York Archdiocese, and Rev. Nicolas Kazarian of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Soares emphasized the importance of recognizing connections between different communities and expressed a desire to contribute to local initiatives through collaboration and mutual trust.
