Elderly couple robbed and locked in bedroom in Campoformido, Italy

On Thursday evening at around 22:30, two masked men in their thirties broke into Villa Primavera in Campoformido, Friuli. They forced 80‑year‑old Gianni Buzzi and his 77‑year‑old wife to remain seated on their bed, threatened them and demanded money, saying, “Your friends told me you are full of money.”

The intruders searched the house, stole the couple’s two mobile phones and locked the elderly pair inside the bedroom, which is fitted with iron‑barred windows. Buzzi managed to retrieve a third smartphone that was connected to the smart TV and used it to call the emergency number 112. Carabinieri opened an investigation after the victims filed a formal complaint, and police suspect the same duo may be responsible for other recent robberies in the Friuli region that used the same tactics.
