Elderly Deka Momčilo of Vranje Lives in Ruins as Humanitarian Appeal Calls for Help

Deka Momčilo Petrović, an 80‑year‑old resident of the remote village of Uševce near Vranje in southern Serbia, lives in a dilapidated house whose roof leaks, walls are cracked and the stove barely works. The elderly man, who says he has “a place for me in the cemetery and no hope for anything else,” survives in extreme poverty and isolation.

Humanitarian activist Marko Nikolić visited Momčilo, filmed the conditions and publicly appealed for assistance. Nikolić urged people of goodwill to unite and provide food, a warm room and a secure roof for the forgotten elder. He shared a contact number (3855) for SMS donations to help restore Momčilo’s dignity and basic living standards.
