Sydney study finds short‑term diet can lower biological age in seniors

Researchers at the University of Sydney reported that adults aged 65 to 75 can experience a reduction in biological age after following specific dietary patterns for just four weeks. In a trial of 104 participants divided into four diet groups, the low‑fat, low‑animal‑protein regimen produced the strongest statistical evidence of biological‑age decline, as measured by 20 biomarkers including cholesterol and insulin. The study, published in *Aging Cell*, suggests that late‑life dietary changes may improve aging markers, but authors caution that longer‑term research is needed to determine whether these changes translate into reduced disease risk.
