Elderly Man Escapes Crash in Shangqiu, China After Wind Takes His Hat

Security‑camera footage captured a near‑miss traffic accident in Shangqiu, Henan province, China. On 17 July, an elderly man stopped his tricycle to collect recyclable bottles. A sudden gust of wind blew his hat onto the street, prompting him to chase after it and move away from his vehicle. Seconds later, an electric car struck the rear of the unattended tricycle, lost control and crossed the lane before stopping on the opposite side. The man was unharmed, having avoided the collision by a matter of seconds.
