Elderly Rights Ombudsman restructuring proposed in Argentina

A new legislative project has been introduced to the City Council to restructure the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Elderly. The proposal aims to strengthen the agency's operational capacity and expand its reach by providing direct services within local neighborhoods.

Under File No. 9450/2026, the project seeks to modify existing ordinances to create a more robust legal and administrative framework. This includes the addition of a new Deputy Ombudsman and a Legal Secretary to expedite rulings and conflict resolution. The plan also allows for territorial deployment to assist citizens directly in their communities and authorizes agreements with universities and professional colleges.
