Elderly Woman Injured in Veracruz Road Accident

On Friday, 10 July 2026, Francisca Corro, an elderly resident of the Pocitos‑Rivera neighbourhood, was lightly injured after a RAM 700 van struck her while she attempted to cross the intersection of Avenida Miguel Ángel de Quevedo and Calle Mariano Arista in the Unidad Veracruzana colonia of Veracruz, Mexico. The driver tried to maneuver to avoid impact, but the vehicle's side mirror hit the pedestrian, causing a chin injury. Municipal fire paramedics provided on‑site medical assistance, while state police and naval police recorded the incident. After evaluation, responders determined that hospitalization was not required, and the woman remained under observation at the scene. Authorities reminded both pedestrians and drivers to exercise extreme caution in high‑traffic areas to prevent similar accidents.
