Elderly Woman Rescued from Prague’s Rokytka River After Missing‑Person Search

A 74‑year‑old woman who had been reported missing on July 9 in Prague was located on July 12 in the Rokytka river. A passer‑by heard her cries for help, responded immediately and found her downstream where she had fallen. She was handed over to rescuers and suffered no life‑threatening injuries.

The Prague police thanked the public and media for assistance in the search and asked that the woman’s photograph be withdrawn from circulation. Authorities noted she suffers a condition that impairs her sense of time and space, which contributed to her wandering away from home.

Earlier efforts had involved checking dozens of locations across the capital, as the senior had previously gone missing and been found outside the city. Police continue to urge anyone with information about her whereabouts during the earlier disappearance to contact the hotline.
