Elderly Women Rescued in Mexico and Argentina

An 88‑year‑old woman, Rosa Martha, was rescued from a stalled home elevator in the Colinas de San Jerónimo neighborhood of Monterrey, Mexico. Police officers José Hernández and Cruz Pérez responded to a municipal emergency call, improvised a rescue using sheets to lift her to the upper floor, and transferred her safely to her bedroom without injury.

In a separate incident, a 79‑year‑old woman who fell from a mule in a remote mountain area near Caspalá, Argentina, was rescued after spending two nights exposed to cold. A multi‑agency operation involving municipal agents, firefighters, police, health workers and the provincial emergency service (SAME) coordinated a ground team and a helicopter. Director Pablo Jure oversaw the aerial evacuation to Hospital Pablo Soria, where she was treated for a fractured left femur and a dislocated left shoulder. Her condition was reported as stable.
