Eldrich Boedhoe arrested in Medellín after international manhunt

Colombian authorities, supported by French and United States agencies, have arrested Eldrich Boedhoe in Medellín. Boedhoe, a Dutch citizen with an Antillean background, was wanted via an Interpol Red Notice.

Boedhoe had been living in Colombia since at least 2015. He is accused of serving as a coordinator for a criminal organization that smuggled cocaine from Colombia to Europe, specifically targeting France, Spain, and the Netherlands. The organization reportedly used commercial flights and modified luggage with false bottoms to evade airport security.

Boedhoe has a prior conviction in the Netherlands for large-scale drug trafficking involving 120 kilograms of cocaine. Authorities are currently processing the legal procedures to determine his eventual extradition to the Netherlands to serve his sentence.
