Eleanor Patterson wins Diamond League high jump title in Brussels
Australian high jumper Eleanor Patterson secured the Diamond League trophy in Brussels, marking her second consecutive victory over world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh. Patterson cleared 2.01 metres on her third attempt to claim the title.
Mahuchikh finished in second place with a height of 1.99 metres. Fellow Australian Nicola Olyslagers took third place, clearing 1.95 metres. The competition was noted for its high stakes, as Patterson maintained a clean sheet through much of the event, putting pressure on her rivals.
In other results from the Diamond League Final, Australian Cameron Myers won the men's 1500m, and Jessica Hull secured a third-place finish in the same event with a season's best time of 3:54.73. The athletes now prepare for the World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest.
