Election Commission holds EVM and VVPAT workshop in Varanasi

The Election Commission of India (ECI) conducted a special workshop in Varanasi on September 11 to facilitate the First Level Check (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs). The session, chaired by Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Manish Garg, focused on training officials in technical and administrative procedures ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Election Commissioner Navdeep Rinwa stated that the workshop represents the first step in preparing voting machines for the elections. District election officers from six divisions in eastern Uttar Pradesh, representing 21 districts, participated in the training. The process involves oversight by engineers and ensures the participation of recognized political parties to maintain transparency and machine functionality.
