Election officials in West Bengal and Delhi launch voter enrollment drives

Election officials in West Bengal and Delhi have launched initiatives to enroll eligible voters who were omitted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

In West Bengal, the Chief Electoral Officer released a list of voters categorized as Absent, Shifted, Dead, or Duplicate (ASDD). Eligible individuals on this list can apply for inclusion in the electoral roll using Form 6, either online or through a Booth Level Officer. This move follows criticism from TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose, who questioned the timing of the enrollment drive, suggesting it should have been conducted prior to elections.

Simultaneously, the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer announced special camps across the national capital to facilitate the enrollment of left-out electors. These camps, including sessions at various colleges and universities, aim to maximize the registration of young voters. The initiative also includes provisions for electors displaced by recent colony demolitions.
