In Peru, the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has extended the deadline for political organizations and candidates participating in the 2026 subnational elections to submit their first financial reports. The new deadline is September 18, providing a seven-day extension. This report must cover all income and expenditures recorded between the election call on January 7 and September 5, 2026. Submissions can be made through the CLARIDAD digital platform, in person at ONPE headquarters, or via regional and decentralized electoral offices.

In Mexico, the National Electoral Institute (INE) is developing new guidelines to monitor internal party processes ahead of the 2027 elections. These rules aim to address legal gaps regarding activities conducted before formal pre-campaigns. The proposed measures include prohibiting the use of public resources, government services, and social programs for political promotion. Additionally, the guidelines seek to restrict the use of radio, television, and public funds, while requiring parties to set spending limits and submit individualized financial reports for their candidates.
