Electoral security operation launched in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico

On 5 June 2026 an electoral security operation began in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, under the supervision of the municipal Committee of Electoral Safeguarding, which includes municipal auditor Lilia Gabriela Muñoz García and three local citizens. The operation follows guidelines from the State Secretariat of Auditing and Accountability and involves verifying and securing municipal public assets, official vehicles and administrative areas after the workday to protect resources during the upcoming vote. Essential city services and emergency response remain operational.

In the same election, Sergio Garza Ramos, a resident with a hearing disability, served as a polling‑station official. He received sign‑language‑based training and adapted materials, and he independently guided voters through the voting process, verified their data, and handled ballots without additional assistance. His participation illustrates the electoral authorities' inclusion measures.
