Electra EL2 hybrid-electric aircraft performs demonstration at Bader Field
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) hosted the state’s first Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) demonstration at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event featured a flight of the Electra EL2 Ultra Short, a hybrid-electric aircraft.
The Electra EL2 Ultra Short utilizes “blown-lift” technology, which allows the aircraft to take off and land in distances as short as 150 feet. According to the NJDOT, this capability enables the plane to operate from small spaces, such as a soccer field, without the need for traditional runways. The technology is intended to provide a cleaner, quieter, and more efficient method for regional travel by reducing carbon emissions and travel times.
