Electric air pumps: Lezyne launches E-Drive as AstroAI wins consumer test
The market for electric air pumps is expanding as cyclists and drivers seek alternatives to manual pumps and CO2 cartridges. Lezyne has introduced the ‘E-Drive’, a premium electric pump featuring a composite housing and a 750 mAh rechargeable battery via USB-C. The device includes a digital display for precise inflation up to 8.25 bar (120 psi) and a ‘Set&Forget’ function. It is designed to be compatible with both racing bike and car valves.
In a comparative test conducted by IMTEST, the AstroAI wireless electric air pump emerged as the winner for both overall performance and value. Priced at approximately 23 euros, the AstroAI model was noted for its high compatibility with bicycle, car, and ball valves, as well as additional features like a built-in lamp and power bank function. While the device has a relatively long charging time, it demonstrated efficient inflation capabilities for various tire types and offered multiple pressure unit displays.
