Electric bus expansions underway in Pamplona and Liège

Public transport authorities in Pamplona, Spain, and Liège, Belgium, are implementing new electric bus solutions to improve urban mobility.

In Pamplona, the City Council and the Mancomunidad de la Comarca de Pamplona are launching a two-year pilot program featuring a small electric minibus. The vehicle, measuring between 8 and 9 meters, is designed to navigate the narrow streets of the Casco Viejo, Ensanches, and Santa María la Real districts. The project will utilize a renting model, with estimated monthly costs of approximately 9,000 euros. TCC Moventis has been authorized to manage the vehicle procurement to ensure the fleet meets specific size and propulsion requirements.

In Belgium, a new 24.7-meter, 100% electric articulated bus has been introduced on the B2 line between Guillemins and Sart-Tilman. Operated by LETEC under OTW, the vehicle offers a 30% increase in capacity compared to current models, accommodating roughly 150 passengers. Due to its significant length, operators have issued safety warnings for other road users, particularly regarding blind spots and maneuvering in narrow areas like the Pont de Fragnée and Rue de Sclessin.
