Electric motorcycle market in Vietnam shifts toward advanced technology
The transition from gasoline to electric motorcycles in Vietnam requires more than just replacing engines with electric motors. To successfully replace traditional gasoline vehicles, electric motorcycles must meet high standards for range, power, durability, and convenience, including fast charging and reasonable costs.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Traffic Police Department, there are over 84 million registered two-wheeled motorcycles in the country. In the first half of 2026, approximately 1,825,459 new motorcycles were registered, an increase of nearly 700,000 compared to the same period in 2025. This scale highlights the motorcycle's role as a primary mode of daily transport for commuting, schooling, and shopping.
As electric vehicle brands grow, the market is shifting from providing an additional electric option to meeting the rigorous demands of users looking to fully replace their gasoline-powered vehicles. This evolution necessitates a focus on advanced technology and enhanced user experiences to drive widespread adoption.
