Electric Picnic festival to utilize wind power for performances

The Electric Picnic festival in Stradbally, Co. Laois, is utilizing wind power for its main performances. For the second consecutive year, Flogas serves as the official renewable energy partner, with electricity traced directly to the Knockawarriga Wind Farm in Co. Limerick, operated by Perigus Energy.

As part of the partnership, the Flogas Power Deck will serve as a raised viewing platform for attendees. This platform is powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a low-emission renewable fuel derived from waste materials such as plant matter and used cooking oil.

Regarding festival logistics, the event runs from August 28 to August 30. Attendees are permitted to bring up to 48 cans per person into the campsites, though glass is strictly prohibited across the entire site. Other banned items include disposable barbecues, campfires, drones, and air horns.
