Electric Picnic introduces female urinals to reduce festival queues

Electric Picnic is introducing female urinals at its festival in Stradbally, Co Laois, to address long toilet queues for women. The facilities, produced by UK-based PEEQUAL and introduced via Irish company Future Events Hire, mark the first time these urinals will be used at an Irish music festival.

Designed for urination via a squatting method, the open-air units are intended to be three times faster to use than conventional portable toilets. The units feature a private wraparound design, are touch-free, and include anti-splashback and occupancy indicators. PEEQUAL has previously supplied these facilities to major events such as Glastonbury and the London Marathon, reporting a 90% rebooking rate among previous users.
