Electric underfloor heating offers increased design freedom

Electric underfloor heating is being highlighted as a solution for increasing design freedom in home interiors by eliminating the need for wall-mounted radiators. This technology allows for unobstructed wall surfaces, enabling furniture and decor to be placed more flexibly, including directly in front of large glass windows.

Technical advantages of electric systems over water-based underfloor heating include a much lower build-up height of approximately one centimeter and faster heating times. Using self-learning thermostats, these systems can reach comfortable temperatures in roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Markus Schuster, an expert from the WÄRME+ initiative, notes that architects often utilize this solution to achieve minimalist or visually clear room designs, particularly in well-insulated new builds or renovations where space is limited.
