Electric vehicle adoption trends rise in Czechia and UK fleets

A joint survey by E. ON and Volkswagen indicates that up to 41% of Czech drivers could transition to electric vehicles (EVs) with minimal changes to their daily routines. While EVs currently represent only 6.5% of new car registrations in Czechia, the study suggests that the primary barriers to adoption are a lack of first-hand experience and unfounded concerns rather than technological limitations. Approximately 73% of respondents expressed interest in trying an electric car.

In the United Kingdom, the electric vehicle market for corporate fleets is seeing a significant shift toward Chinese manufacturers. Data from Leasing.com shows that Chinese vehicles now account for 17% of the UK fleet EV market and 15.8% of all fleet leasing enquiries. BYD has emerged as a major player, attracting 41.6% of all Chinese fleet enquiries. This trend is driven by competitive list prices, high standard specifications, and attractive Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rates, helping businesses meet zero-emission targets while managing monthly spending.
