This occurs because background systems, including battery management, cellular connectivity, cameras, and security features like Tesla’s Sentry Mode, remain active. While a typical daily loss ranges from 1% to 3%, security monitoring can increase this depletion to between 5% and 8% per day.
To mitigate battery drain during long periods of inactivity, experts suggest disabling mobile app tracking, avoiding frequent app usage, and parking in shaded or indoor areas to regulate temperature. It is also recommended to leave the battery at approximately 50% charge rather than fully charged or completely empty.
In the broader context of e-mobility, the electric vehicle market is expanding significantly. In Turkey, electric car sales reached 189,868 units in 2025, representing a 17.7% market share when including extended-range systems. By the first seven months of 2026, the market share for pure electric cars in Turkey stood at 18.7%.
