Energy costs and renovation policies see significant shifts
Multiple energy and cost adjustments are impacting consumers across different sectors. In France, electricity tariffs for regulated markets are rising, with a 2.5% average increase noted by the Commission de régulation de l’énergie (CRE). This is compounded by a scheduled increase in domestic charging costs for electric vehicles starting October 1, 2026, driven by wholesale market fluctuations.
Energy renovation policies in France are also undergoing changes. As of September 1, 2026, MaPrimeRénov’ assistance for major renovation projects is no longer available if gas or oil heating systems are retained. Additionally, starting October 1, 2026, all energy renovation advertisements must include a mandatory reference to the public service platform France Rénov’ to help prevent fraud.
In North America, Tesla has implemented price hikes for its home charging hardware. In Canada, the standard Wall Connector has risen to $815 CAD, while the Universal Wall Connector has increased to $945 CAD. Similar price increases have been observed in the United States, affecting both standard and universal models.
