Electric vehicle market sees growth and technological shifts

The electric vehicle market is seeing significant shifts in Europe and China. In Europe, electric vehicle sales grew by 51% year-over-year in July, with the Škoda Elroq becoming a top-selling model. In China, pure electric vehicles reached a record 44% of new car sales.

Technological advancements are also emerging, such as Geely's plans to test solid-state batteries by 2027, which could potentially offer energy densities of 500 Wh/kg and ranges exceeding 1,000 kilometers. Additionally, the development of electric camping solutions, like the Evotrex PG5, is gaining traction as these trailers utilize their own electric drives to assist towing vehicles.

In the commercial sector, the new Volkswagen e-Transporter, developed in collaboration with Ford, offers practical features for professional use, including IQ. Light LED Matrix technology and the potential for V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, which allows users to power tools directly from the vehicle's traction battery. Meanwhile, Tesla is addressing a recall affecting nearly three million vehicles due to issues with emergency door openings.
