Electrical issues in Goiás cause power outages and livestock deaths

Electrical infrastructure issues in Goiás, Brazil, have led to service interruptions and significant agricultural losses. In Itapirapuã, the theft of approximately 20 meters of grounding cables caused power outages on Wednesday night. Equatorial Goiás reported that the criminal act compromised the electrical system and damaged equipment, prompting an investigation by the Civil Police.

In a separate incident in Água Limpa, a farmer reported a loss of R$ 223,000 after 62 cattle died from electric shock. The accident occurred when a power line snapped and contacted a fence separating the animals. Family members of the farmer reported that workers also received shocks while attempting to restore power. Equatorial Goiás stated it is investigating the circumstances of the incident and is in contact with the client.
