Electrical safety tips for Chilean holiday celebrations
Experts are providing safety recommendations for Chilean households to prevent electrical overloads during the September holiday celebrations. Luis Clavería, Quality Control Manager at COVISA, warns that while individual appliances may seem harmless, the simultaneous use of high-consumption items—such as electric grills, kettles, and air fryers—can exceed the capacity of a single electrical circuit.
To mitigate risks of overheating or electrical failure, specialists advise against chaining power strips or extensions and recommend connecting high-power appliances to dedicated outlets. Particular attention should be paid to decorative lights, speakers, and heat-generating appliances that are frequently used during festivities.
