Electrician injured by electric shock during maintenance in Marília

An electrician working for the utility company CPFL was injured by an electric shock while performing maintenance in the Jardim Pérola neighborhood of Marília, Brazil.

The accident occurred on a Wednesday afternoon on Paulo Centrone Street. While working on the public secondary network, the current entered the worker's right hand and exited through his left, causing burns to both extremities. Although the worker was properly anchored to the pole at the time of the discharge, colleagues had to use a truck's aerial basket to rescue him.

Emergency responders from the Fire Department and the Advanced Support Unit of the SAMU service attended the scene. The worker was conscious and oriented when transported to the emergency room at the Hospital das Clínicas in Marília. He will undergo detailed examinations to assess the extent of the burns and check for potential internal injuries caused by the electrical current.
